Mexicana | Posted at April 20th, 2010

After factoring in weather, culture and crime into all the top Mexican vacation destinations, Cancun, in my opinion is the run away favorite.
In addition, Cancun visitors get to enjoy the Caribbean Sea and get to explore the up-and-coming Maya Riviera strip of new resorts to the south.
With flight prices to Europe and Asia on the quick rise this summer, Cancun is a much cheaper option. Cancun from San Francisco on Mexicana for $317 is very affordable.
Use our searchbox above to find cheap flights to Cancun this summer!

Southwest just announced a “Click n Save” aka “Dead Season Sale” from select cities for as low as $49 each way (before taxes). When you add up the taxes and charges there are some decent fares, including Los Angeles (LAX) to San Francisco (SFO) for $119 (see below).
Travel is good from December 2 through March 9, 2010. Unfortunately, this won’t help during Thanksgiving. Nor Christmas for that matter, since December 18 – January 4 is blacked out. However, for most of January and February there are low fares. Call this the “Ski Trip/Valentine’s Day Travel” sale if you want!
Additional details include…
- 14-day advance purchase required.
- Purchase by November 23, 2009, 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
- Travel valid every day except Fridays & Sundays.
- Blackout Dates Apply: December 18 – January 4, 2010.

Northwest Airlines | Posted at May 15th, 2009
Finally, some love for Manila. You would think that Northwest Airlines would be spotlighting this deal on their site, but it’s flying under the jet stream. We couldn’t find any mention of it.
The same price applies from LAX, in addition to SFO. Due to the unannounced nature of this “deal”, we don’t know the details, only that we’re seeing low rates for late May and June. So, expect fares to climb in July.
Rarely do we see good fares to The Philippines, which is unfortunate because of the large amount of expatriates living in the States who frequently make the trip. It’s usually Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore and Bangkok dominating the deals to Asia. So, this is rare opportunity. Up next, maybe some love for Seoul?
