Taca Airlines, which last Fall announced its merger with Avianca to become the 2nd largest airline in South America, is offering flights from Chicago’s O’Hare to its hub in San Jose, Costa Rica for under $300.

In fact, we just found a flight itinerary for April travel for only $233 (see below). This is extremely cheap for an international flight of this distance.

Prices may be steeper on Taca’s site, so as always, search multiple travel sites. We found our $233 itinerary on Orbitz.

Mexicana and American Airlines are also offering sub-$300 fares from Chicago to San Jose through August.
