25 Cent Rooms in the U.S. Virgin Islands

In celebration of the newly minted U.S.V.I. quarter, and to drum up tourism during the islands’ wettest months (and the last months of hurricane season), hotel rooms will cost merely 25 cents. This promotion will be good at nine different hotels on St. Thomas and St. Croix.
We had the opportunity to stay and attend a wedding at one of these hotels, Carambola Resort, and had a splendid time. It’s located right on the white sandy beach in a remote section of the island. We paid about $300/night back in October 2003, so the thought of 25 cents gives me goose bumps.
