A major city in northern Italy and capital of the region of Piedmont, Turin is a key spot for the auto industry and an economic hub. It’s also a wonderful place for tourists to visit, with many architecturally interesting buildings and fascinating museums. For example, it’s home to the mysterious Shroud of Turin. Kept in the chapel at the Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, the shroud is a piece of linen cloth which has a male image embedded on it.

The wounds on the body and the look of the man’s facial image left on the cloth has led many people to believe it could have been the shroud that wrapped the body of the crucified Jesus Christ.

It is an issue that has been strongly debated over the years, with opinion widely split, but whatever you believe, it’s certainly interesting and attracts thousands of interested people when it goes on show.
