Puerto Rico Airfares

Many American visitors believe that Puerto Rico offers the best of both worlds – an exotic tropical location, but with the comfortable feeling of still being in the United States. There are also no passport or immigration requirements when traveling here, and the currency is the US Dollar. The island offers miles of beautiful sandy beaches, excellent golf courses, water sports, luxury hotels, exciting nightlife - and a distinct Spanish flavor.

Most visitors to Puerto Rico fly into San Juan, one of the oldest capitals in the Americas, founded by the Spanish in 1521. Puerto Rico is an island of contrasts – miles of high-rise hotels, restaurants and casinos line the beaches outside San Juan, whereas the interior of the island offers a more peaceful side, such as the beautifully restored colonial town of San German.

One of the highlights of the island is Old San Juan, still partially surrounded by protective walls dating from the 17th century. It’s a delightful place to explore, with its narrow streets and overhanging balconies, and streets lined with stylish cafes, shops and bars.

In contrast to the bustle of San Juan, a 40-mile journey from the city will bring you to the only tropical rain forest in the United States. El Yunque is 28,000 acres of wilderness containing spectacular waterfalls, hiking trails and over 200 species of trees and plants.
