Mallorca Overview

Mallorca, also sometimes known to foreigners as Majorca, is the largest island in Spain and is part of the Balearic archipelago of islands in the Mediterranean Sea.

The capital, Palma, has a good array of historic sights to see, such as the cathedral and castle, or you could relax with a glass of wine down by the harbourside, and watch the day-to-day life of the island.

Also worth a visit are the botanical gardens at Soller, which offer an array of different plants, including many natives to the area. The beaches on the island are famed by holidaymakers – in the north you’ll typically find long stretches of sandy beaches, and in the east there are smaller and picturesque coves. If nightlife is your thing, you’ll find it in Palma and Magaluf, as well as other spots, but there are plenty of areas that are quieter or suitable for families. Go!
