The city of Malaga in Andalusia is often referred as being the ‘Gateway to the Costa del Sol,’ as it’s where many people arrive en route to the Costa del Sol beaches.

One must see is the highly acclaimed Picasso Museum (Museo Picasso), which opened in 2003 and is housed in the Palacio de Buenavista, in the heart of the historic part of the centre. You can find our more about the world famous artist who was born in this very city and see many of his great works of art. Don’t forget to also visit the Casa Natal, or the birthplace of Picasso – it’s only a few minutes walk away from the museum, so is an ideal accompaniment to the museum.

Other highlights include the historic cathedral, which has been restored to its glory, and the Roman and Phoenician ruins, which are actually located in the basement of the Picasso Museum.
