You can’t go far in Lyon without encountering bridges and rivers. Both the Saone and Rhone flow through here and there are no less than 28 bridges. A boat trip down at least one of them is a must and during the summer evening trips are available.

With its excellent subway system, it’s easy to explore this city and there are many delights to see. An historic city, Lyon has many fine examples of Renaissance architecture, especially in the old town area. In the past it was a major centre for silk production and today you can still eat at the Grand Café Des Negociants, where the silk merchants gathered.
