Iceland typically doesn't top most European destination lists. However, this island nation has a lot to offer. "This Is My City - Reykjavik" is a pilot episode created by Tim and Thomas of This is My City. This video offers a unique glimpse of Iceland from two tourists while being chaperoned by an eccentric local named Vidar. This guy is twice as interesting as anybody on reality TV and this video really nails Iceland on it's icy head in a way most travel shows never had.

Green and clean are typical first impressions of Iceland. The volcanic Land of the Midnight Sun boasts ever-changing vistas, friendly people and hot nightlife.

A trip around the island along the 860-mile Ring Road, starting out from Reykjavik, is like a “Journey to the Center of the Earth” with plenty of fire and ice and overnight stays in villages with intriguing Viking names. Miles of emerald green rolling hills and tundra and flower-filled valleys give way to pristine glaciers gleaming in the sunlight. On hillsides, underground geothermal seawater sends steam escaping into the air through ground vents and sheer cliffs drop straight down into the sparkling sea along the rugged coastline. View Strokkur, the “churn,” erupting every six to eight minutes with a plume of scalding water and steam shooting 60-80 feet in the air at Geysir Park. Calving glacial icebergs drift out to sea at Jokulsarlon. And, save time for a restorative soak in the incredibly Blue Lagoon at the end of the journey.
