Ibiza Overview

By Roz Andrews
One of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea off the east coast of Spain, Ibiza, known as the “party island of Europe, is famous for its vibrant nightlife.
Ibiza is edged with 56 beaches. The beaches in the north of the island tend to be quieter and more unspoiled than in the main tourist areas.
Leave the coastline to explore woodland, where wild orchids grow, and quiet, unspoiled inland villages of white-washed houses, where women wear traditional clothing and the pace of life is much slower.
Visit Ca-na Costa on the smaller, neighboring island of Formentera to see an ensemble of prehistoric stones, believed to mark the spot of an ancient burial ground. La Mola, the highest point of Formentera, offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean. Go!
