Ho Chi Minh City Overview

By Roz Andrews

On the banks of the River Saigon in the south of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, is the country’s largest city.

Cholon, the city’s Chinatown, is filled with temples, markets, restaurants, and assembly halls that served as meeting places for newly-arrived Chinese immigrants in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

The War Remnants Museum contains some very graphic and disturbing images of the horrific effects of the Vietnam War, as well as such exhibits as an intact US Air Force airplane.

Find out more about the country’s recent history by visiting the Ho Chi Minh Museum chronicling the life of Ho Chi Minh, one of the most influential figures in Vietnam in the twentieth century. Go!
