Ferrara Overview

Ferrara is a town in southern Italy that was home to many famous artists during the Renaissance. Intricately designed palaces, once home to royal families, remain in this town and pose awesome displays of architecture. The Palazzo Marfisa D’Este, a sixteenth century home of the D’Este family, has an amazing frescoed ceiling.
The town is home to numerous museums that display many of the finest examples of life back in medieval times. The National Museum of Archaeology houses relics and valuable collections from the Greeks and Etruscans. The Diamond Palace offers an excellent location to view impressive exhibitions.
Ferrara is home to a splendid annual array of street musicians who arrive from all the ends of the earth to present a spectacular musical performance. The National Art Gallery houses numerous paintings from long ago, specifically the period between the thirteenth and eighteenth centuries, that are open to the public for viewing.
The Po Delta Regional Park is such an extensive area that a truly eclectic array of landscapes is present. It is here that tourists will find swamp forests, submerged woodlands, and pine forests that are home to huge trees, flamingos, unique vegetation, and an amazing variety of birds. Ferrara is an excellent stop for tourists or day trippers. Go!
