By Rachel Newcombe: Corfu is one of the most northerly Ionian Islands and is located off the West coast of Greece. Meals are an important occasion for Greeks, especially the traditional Sunday lunch, so you can be sure of finding some great foods in the many tavernas on the island. Popular with tourists wanting to relax and unwind, there are 92 beaches scattered around the island. Apart from all the beach activities, there’s plenty to see and do here. The Achilion Palace is one of Corfu’s top attractions and was built in 1890 for the Empress of Austria. It’s in a picturesque location and has lush gardens to wander around. Go! |
