Tampa Overview

Tampa, on the gulf side of Florida, is smilingly referred to as “The Big Guava.” Head out to the beaches with its snowy white sand for a satisfying dip in the waters and watch the sunset. However, do not miss out on Tampa’s unique attractions. The Busch Gardens can be toured between March and October by monorail, cable car or train while wild animals saunter and bird by exotic flowers and plants. Visitors big and small can also try the Endless Surf or any of the rides in the park. For a really good show head for Tampa in late January every year for the Gasparilla Pirate Festival where the Festival of Lights, parades, art shows and concerts jostle each other for attention. Then there is always Ybor City where shopping is a pleasure and the nightlife is lively all year, not to mention the distinctive annual “Guava-ween” parade at the end of October. In downtown Tampa, the Florida Aquarium boasts a 200,000 square foot aquarium with thousands of species of plants and animals. World famous Skatepark of Tampa is also a must-visit with its Transitions Art Gallery and the more down-to-earth skatepark featured in the video game Tony Hawk’s Underground. While there, gaze upon the Sulphur Springs Water Tower at sunset located at Interstate 275. Go!
