Take photos of a modern skyline and funky architecture when you visit the vibrant city of Seattle. With the snowy peak of fantastic Mount Rainer and Lake Washington situated behind, this city is a photographers dream.

Seattle began as a logging town and was only put on the national map in 1897 when the Klondike Gold Rush occurred. If you have a love for airplanes and the aviation industry, check out the Boeing Museum of Flight where you can see airplanes dated back to World War II. Amazon.com and Microsoft have also created a successful reputation for this city. Visitors can also see the famous Space Needle.

If you want to get out and connect to the city, go to the Pike Place Market where you will find loads of little shops, market food, music and entertainment. If you’re into museums and art, then visit Pioneer Square. The nightlife is pretty hot in Seattle and if you’re craving Mexican or some tangy margaritas try ‘Las Margaritas’, home of some of the best Mexican food in town.

On the down side, visitors should be aware that Seattle has its share of homeless people and protesters. Watch out for pick pockets too! Coffee addicts do not fret. There is a Starbucks on every corner available for your coffee fix.

Discount Carriers Serving Seattle Seattle Tacoma Intl Airport (SEA)
Do you consider yourself a savvy flyer? Learn more below about the following discount carriers serving Seattle (SEA). Follow links below to potentially save more on your flight.

Virgin America, Southwest, JetBlue, Horizon, Frontier, AirTran and Sun Country are the seven discount carriers providing service at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), aka Sea-Tac. Having this many low-cost airlines operating at one airport usually translates to lower overall fares. Many Vancouver residents choose Sea-Tac over Vancouver International Airport (YVR), 152 miles north, for that reason, and to avoid the additional taxes when flying internationally.

Virgin America flies direct to Los Angeles and San Francisco from Seattle. Southwest jets non-stop to 14 cities from Sea-Tac, including Las Vegas, Phoenix and Chicago. JetBlue flies direct to four cities from SEA, including Los Angeles, Boston and New York. Sea-Tac is a hub for Horizon and their parent, Alaska Airlines, so you'll find a plethora of flights from these two airlines.

The only other airport within driving from Sea-Tac besides Vancouver is Portland (PDX), 160 miles south.
