Seattle Overview
By Natasha Jervis
Take photos of a modern skyline and funky architecture when you visit the vibrant city of Seattle. With the snowy peak of fantastic Mount Rainer and Lake Washington situated behind, this city is a photographers dream. Seattle began as a logging town and was only put on the national map in 1897 when the Klondike Gold Rush occurred. If you have a love for airplanes and the aviation industry, check out the Boeing Museum of Flight where you can see airplanes dated back to World War II. Amazon.com and Microsoft have also created a successful reputation for this city. Visitors can also see the famous Space Needle that has been featured in the popular TV sitcom, Frasier.
If you want to get out and connect to the city, go to the Pike Place Market where you will find loads of little shops, market food, music and entertainment. If you’re into museums and art, then visit Pioneer Square. The nightlife is pretty hot in Seattle and if you’re craving Mexican or some tangy margaritas try ‘Las Margaritas’, home of some of the best Mexican food in town. On the down side, visitors should be aware that Seattle has its share of homeless people and protesters. Watch out for pick pockets too! Coffee addicts do not fret. There is a Starbucks on every corner available for your coffee fix. Go!
