Southwest, JetBlue, Horizon and Frontier are the four low-fare airlines flying at (Norman Y. Mineta) San Jose International Airport (SJC) in San Jose, California. This airport is not be confused with Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Southwest flies direct from SJC to over ten cities, including five in southern California. JetBlue flies direct to JFK and Long Beach from San Jose, while Horizon flies direct to Boise, Sacramento, Portland and Palm Springs. Frontier only flies non-stop to its Denver hub from SJC.

The three alternate airports within a two-hour drive are San Francisco (SFO), 32 miles, Oakland (OAK), 40 miles, and Sacramento (SMF), 118 miles away. Serving approximately 10 million passengers annually, it is the smallest of the three Bay Area airports, so may be the least hectic. SJC is the most southern of the three airports, so logistically it's your best bet when visiting Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel and other Monterey Bay and Central Valley cities. In addition, the small, Monterey Peninsula Airport (MRY) in Monterey, has discount carrier Allegiant operating there.
