Norfolk, also known as an early English settlement location, is filled with educational museums and monuments for all history buffs to enjoy. Check out the Nauticus National Maritime Center where you can educate yourself about the sea, or visit the oldest naval port in the United States, Norfolk Naval Base. Travelers can visit the USS Wisconsin that was in service in WWII through to the Persian Gulf War, or see where the British landed in 1607 at the Battle of Coops Monument. Outdoor event enthusiasts come from around the globe to attend annual event such as the Cajun Food Festival or the famous Bayou Boogaloo at Town Point Park. A Beatles fan?
