Newark Liberty Intl Airport (EWR)

JetBlue and AirTran Airways are the two domestic, low-cost carriers that fly out of Newark International Airport (EWR). JetBlue jets direct from Newark to five “snowbird” cities in Florida, while AirTran flies only direct to its Atlanta hub.

India-based Jet Airways is the lone international discount airline operating at Newark, flying direct to Brussels.

Newark, located 15 miles from mid-town Manhattan, is a popular alternate airport to JFK and LaGuardia. However, Newark is a fortress hub for Continental Airlines, meaning they fly more than 70% of the flights here, which gives them pricing power and may translate to higher fares.
