New York Airfares

By iCheapAirfares Staff: New York City is arguably the cultural, entertainment and financial capital of the world. The “Big Apple” has some of the most notable museums, performance venues and financial markets, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Madison Square Garden and the New York Stock Exchange. Its more than 8 million inhabitants occupy a 321 square mile section known as the five borroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island.

My memories of New York City include the organized congestion of lights at Times Square, horse-drawn carriages in front of Radio City Music Hall, yellow taxis buzzing around Central Park, stories of perseverance at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, the energy inside Central Station, audacious peanut vendors at Yankee Stadium and garlic laden smells at Mulberry Street during suppertime. Go!

Yankees Stadium
Had a great time at the "House that Ruth Built". It's not one of the best stadium's in the MLB, as far as fan comfort, but the mystique alone makes it a must visit. The Lower Eastside Tenemant Museum was sweet too. Times Square at night is awesome.

I LOVE New York!
New York was a bit overwhelming at first, but after a day I began to feel at home. I picked up the ‘Not For Tourist Guide to Manhattan’ which you can find in more bookstores and news shops downtown. It took a bit to learn how the streets work, but after I figured it out, I realized the streets went from west to east and the numbers increase as you go north. New Yorkers are not rude, but they are brusque. They will tell you anything you need to know, as long as you ask short brief questions. New Yorkers are always moving, so if you need to stop on the sidewalk and look over your map, its best to do it near a building, or else you may be plowed down by the crowd. I strolled through Central Park, and then went to the Empire State Building. The lines were long, but it was worth it. I love NY and would return any day.

New Yorkers aren't rude....
That's true, New Yorkers aren't rude, they just have no time for long winded questions. I love how merchants don't like when customers take too long to order - it makes the lines move very fast! If you go to a deli you better know exactly what you want and say it quickly and correctly or you'll be passed up! And, don't change your order or you'll get super dirty looks from the merchant and everybody in line behind you! I made the mistake of cancelling my order at a food cart outside of Yankee Stadium - the vendor let out the most menacing sigh! I love it.
