Looking for some fun activities the whole family can enjoy? Jacksonville is full of places, both indoor and out that are sure to put a smile on every member of the family.
Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens: It is home to over 2,000 animals and an impressive botanical gardens area. View animals with a train ride around the zoo, or take the kids for a spin on the Wildlife Carousel. A recent addition to the zoo is the Kids Zone, which features a splash area, maze and more, where children can learn about animal and plant life through interactive play.
Museum of Science & History: MOSH makes learning science fun through interactive exhibits. Prehistoric Park, a permanent exhibit at the museum, features the dinosaur skeleton of an Allosaurus. Kidspace caters to children 5 and under with a play area. The museum is also home to the Alexander Brest Planetarium, where visitors can learn about astronomy. The Planetarium also features Cosmic Concerts, a laser light show set to music.
Adventure Landing: With two locations in Jacksonville, Adventure Landing is the place to go for fun. Features a large arcade, outdoor speedway, mini golf, laser tag and more. Adventure Landing at Jacksonville Beach also contains Shipwreck Island Waterpark, with pools and slides for children up to the more adventurous of visitors.
Alligator Farm Zoological Park: Florida has always been knows for its alligators, and at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine you can view them up close and personal. The park contains such rare species as albino alligators, exotic birds, crocodiles and more. The star of the Alligator Farm is Maximo, a saltwater croc over 15 feet and growing.
Tree Hill Nature Center: Explore the beauty of the outdoors at Tree Hill, Jacksonville's Nature Center. Visitors can participate in workshops, or simply walk along the paths amongst tall trees and streams. A place to learn about the conservation of nature through appreciation. Go!
