While some states are known for their scenic beauty, others are known for their cultural contributions. Tennessee, with Nashville and Memphis, is well known for being a top music center of the United States. Memphis favors jazz and the blues, while Nashville is the heart and soul of country. In Memphis, the city comes alive with tours of Graceland, Beale Street, the Memphis Rock ’n’Roll Museum, and the Alex Haley Museum. Moving on to Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry is a must see. It is the hub of a huge family of country artists, including new stars and legends (Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline). Because of the Opry, Nashville has been nicknamed Music City, USA. Every famous songwriter starts somewhere. The Bluebird Café, the number one songwriting club in Nashville, is the place where many songs and songwriters (such as Garth Brooks) have gotten their start. Attend one of their nightly shows. Go!
