By Natasha Jervis: The name Honolulu conjures up images of striking cliff views, tropical rainforests, stunning landscapes, and gives off a laid-back ‘aloha’ feel. Check out the vibe in the downtown Honolulu art district and visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial if you want to take in some history. Make sure you’re at the Pearl Harbor Memorial around 7am because the lines can be horrendous. But don’t skip the beach! If you are into diving, you can explore ship wrecks and tropical fish in the waters off Waikiki Beach. Waikiki Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the United States and people travel from all over the world to visit it. If you are an avid shopper and want to step out of the scorching sun for a bit, head to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Visitors should take a trip up to Diamond Head where many photographers and nature enthusiasts go to enjoy some phenomenal views. Waikiki Beach alone will give you a buzz! If you are a surfer, you will love the big waves Honolulu offers. Hang-ten dude! If you are going to visit in the summer months, try to find the isolated beaches in Honolulu when you can. If you are going for a romantic vacation, the isolated beaches can save you from the summer rush of tourists if you want to escape. If you are single and want to hit the hot spots in town, go to the main strip on Waikiki Beach and get your groove on. Waikiki can be a bit tacky with all of it’s’ souvenir shops and hula dancing tourists, but it is also loads of fun! You might even get some free hula lessons. Aloha! Go!
