Southwest is the sole discount carrier operating at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE), which hinders the potential for deals here. The fly direct to only six cities, including Las Vegas and Orlando. Thrifty flyers hope that JetBlue or AirTran will eventually move here and help compete with the legacy carriers.

Continental uses CLE as one of its three hubs in addition to Newark (EWR) and Houston Bush (IAH). Akron (CAK), 50 miles south, is a popular alternate airport for visiting northern Ohio when prices or other circumstances make Cleveland Hopkins less desirable.
