Chicago Overview

Located in the “Midwest” on the southwest edge of Lake Michigan, this city of 3 million in the third largest in the United States. Chicago has a history of innovative architecture, including being home to the world's first skyscraper and Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie School of Architecture. Most of the city needed to be rebuilt after the great fire of 1871. Chicago has a wealth of notable educational institutions including Northwestern University (one of the top 10 colleges in the US) and The Art Institute of Chicago. Getting around town is very easy thanks to the famous "L" train, short for "Elevated".
Things I'll remember most about Chicago were the bickering amongst White Sox and Cubs fans on the L-Train en route to see them play at Wrigley Field (there is a big rivalry between north and south Chicagoans), seeing a comedy improv show at Second City (the same stage that produced John Belushi, Chris Farley, etc), having bratwurst in downtown Chicago, avoiding the perpetually crowded O'Hare International Airport by flying into Midway, the view from atop Sears Tower (which is no longer owned by Sears) and viewing the beautiful homes in Oak Park. Go!
