By Natasha Jervis: Most people think of polar bears, icicles, and igloos when they think of Anchorage, Alaska. It is actually Alaska’s biggest city and a lot warmer than we assume. Visitors should visit this city in the summer months when the temperature reaches 65 degrees and above. Aquatic fanatics can touch marine life in a salt water tank one minute at the Imaginarium, and then take in breathtaking scenery at Prince William Sound the next. Up for some exercise? Avid bikers can get their adrenaline boost by hitting the trail at Tony Knowles Coastal Trail or Hillside Park. History nuts can learn about the history of Alaska’s native people and the city when they visit the Heritage Library and Museum. Ski lovers can jump the hills at Campbell Creek Greenbelt and Kincaid Park, then spin by the chalet to warm up and grab a hot chocolate. Marshmallows please! Go!
