By Natasha Jervis: Calgary is a dynamic city that attracts over one million people a year because of its world-known attractions. This city is one of the biggest cities in Canada, and it is only an hour away from the spectacular and breath taking Rocky Mountains. Check out some of these famous attractions and visit with Calgary first hand.
Yehaw! Calgary hosts the famous Calgary Stampede which includes a massive parade and world-class rodeo. It takes place in the beginning of July and goes for 11 days, so if you are a big fan of cowboys, bull riding, and chick-wagon races, then get out there and saddle up!
If you love taking photos on your travels, be sure to visit the Calgary Tower. This mighty tower stands at 626 feet and has panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains, as well as overall views of the city and country-side. If you are hungry after all that picture taking, there is a rotating restaurant at the top. It can be quite pricy so it might not be the best choice for low budget travelers or back packers.
Ferris wheel lovers, kids, and visitors will have a blast when they get to Calaway Park, known as “Western Canada’s Largest Outdoor Amusement Park.” This park has 27 rides to choose from, and 20 food stands if you are looking for cotton candy and hot dogs. Something for everyone! Go!
