BVI doesn’t offer as many attractions as some of their Caribbean neighbors, but they make up for it with laid-back atmosphere and natural beauty. Even the capital, Road Town, is a modest town of traditional West Indies buildings complete with tin roofs and brightly painted shutters.
BVI has been a center for sailing ever since Columbus first dropped anchor here in the late 15th century. Today, most of the largest sailboat charter companies in the Caribbean have representation in Tortola. Boat chartering is a popular activity in this region.
