This West Midlands city is the second largest in the UK. The city has nearly 2,000 listed buildings and played a key role in the Industrial Revolution.

It’s also one of only two cities in the UK (the other being London) which have a Jewellery Quarter, due to its long history of manufacturing jewellery. The quarter is symbolized by the Chamberlain Clock, which stands at the crossroads of Vyse Street, Warstone Lane and Frederick Street.

Amazingly, Hamburg has more bridges than Venice and waterways are a key feature. They cover eight per cent of the surface area and sailing down them is a great way of seeing the centre of town.
