It’s always been a key Norwegian port and the market (torget) still plays a central role in life here. Visit one of the cafes or bars, sit back and watch the world go by.
The Bergen Art Museum, which overlooks Lille Lungegardsvann lake, houses an impressive collection of art, including pieces from 13th to 20th centuries. Mount Ulriken, 5km from the city centre, is the highest in Bergen. From May to August you can take a cable car or shuttle bus to the top and savour the views. Go! |
