By iCheapAirfares Staff: Sightseeing in Barcelona can be done day or night, as this is a fast place that is full of activities. A trip to Collserola Park can allow you the freedom to wander as aimlessly as you want; there are special tours you can go on as well. The park also holds Font de la Budellera, but make sure you stay on the designated footpaths.
If you want to visit a few museums in Barcelona, there is the Museo Picasso, the Milo House and the National Art Museum of Catalonia. There are around 40 different museums in Barcelona, so you are sure to find at least one that interests you - even if you don't like museums, they're a great place to spend a rainy afternoon should you be unlucky enough to experience an unexpected downpour.
A trip to Barcelona must include a walk down The Rambla. This is a long boulevard which is basically a large street market. There are no cars, so pedestrians are free to explore without fear of 4-wheeled machines. This street is a hive of activity, so make sure you keep your valuables safe and out of the reach of any would-be pickpockets. If you walk far enough down The Rambla, you're in for a surprise as the hustle and bustle of the boulevard gives way to a more relaxed atmosphere.
The Olympic Village should either be at the beginning of your trip to Barcelona or the last stop. This holds the Olympic stadiums, so make yourself feel as if you're a part of history by walking along the columns and the rings.
Any visit to Barcelona should end with the tour of the gothic looking Barcelona Cathedral. Dating back to either the 4th or 5th centuries, most of the original building was destroyed in approximately 925, but some of it was saved and rebuilt in 1046 - various other works have been undertaken in various parts of the Cathedral since that date. Go!
