Air Arabia may be the only discount carrier with a destination that takes as long to pronounce as it does to reach. The airline operates A320s out of Sharjah in the U.A.E, to over 40 airports throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Asia.

Including…wait for it… India’s Thiruvananthapuram.

Voted the Middle East’s Best Low-Cost Airline three times running, Air Arabia’s philosophy is “pay less, fly more”. Pricing policy is based on demand for individual flights, so early booking is a must. Tickets are good value, with taxes and charges often outweighing the actual fare, and seat pitch exceeding that of most scheduled airlines’ Economy sections.

Check-in and checked bags are included, so the only additional fees are optional headsets and in-flight snacks. Unfortunately, alcohol isn’t available at any cost and, as Sharjah is the only Emirate still banning unmarried men and women from socialising, this probably isn’t the best option for a naughty weekend!
