Abu Dhabi Airfares
Abu Dhabi
By Rachel Newcombe: The capital of the United Arab Emirates is often regarded as being overshadowed by its glitzy neighbour, Dubai, but it’s definitely worth a visit. Old and new nestle together in Abu Dhabi, with new developments, international businesses and one of the most expensive hotels in the world sitting alongside historical and cultural sites. The Al Maqtaa Fort is one example of a historic site, which dates back 200 years, and the Heritage Village recreates the traditional Bedouin life.
The Sheikh Khalifa Park, in the Al Matar area, is a haven of tranquillity away from the busy streets. The gardens feature Arabic and Islamic architecture and have local plants, areas of water (lakes, fountains and canals) and lots to explore.
Don’t forget to explore the coastline – there are nearly 200 islands along the coast and boat trips can take you on an island-hopping exploration. See Abu Dhabi travel deals!
